Mile End Road

This two bedroom house in Mile End was in much need of repair since many of the walls had large cracks. These were scars from the bombs that fell nearby during the war.
In order to make it structurally sound, a new steel structure with new foundations now holds up most of the house. This has also allowed for most of the lower ground and ground floor to be cleared of partitions and thus providing plentiful daylight from both sides of the house.
The ground floor combines the residence's office and living room, whereas the kitchen, on the lower ground floor extends into the garden through a concrete finished surface. The bathroom, tiled in bright red, benefits from extra light through a corner window.
